Pandita penned a one year deal on Tuesday.
“I just met his (Ishan’s) father,” Das told IANS via chat.
“My conversation with him was very good. Hopefully Ishan is the first of many more young kids from India, especially the academies, playing in Europe,” Das said.
“His father was very happy and hoped he plays regularly,” Das added.
Pandita was handed the No.50 jersey on Tuesday. He has joined the first team but will start by playing for the junior side – Leganes B – due to his limited exposure and tender age.
Leganes, a club located on the outskirts of Madrid, got promotion to Spain’s top division football this season. They are currently placed 11th in the league table.
